What is the Fairleigh 1Card?
The Fairleigh 1Card is Fairleigh Dickinson University’s official identification card issued to all members of the University community. It is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also functions as a convenient payment method for services on and around campus. All students, faculty, and staff are eligible to receive a Fairleigh 1Card.

Do both Fairleigh Dickinson campuses participate?
Yes! The Fairleigh 1Card with the 1Card Cash account will be available at both the College of Florham and Metropolitan Campus.

How do I get my Fairleigh 1Card?
Residential Students will receive the new Fairleigh 1Card as part of the Housing registration and check in process. If the University does not have your photograph on file, you will have one taken and your card will be issued instantly. Non-Resident Students must visit the Public Safety Office at your respective campus to have a new Fairleigh 1Card produced. There is no charge for your initial Fairleigh 1Card.

What if I lose my Fairleigh 1Card?
Reporting your card lost and requesting a replacement will require you to complete Step 1 and possibly 2 and 3 depending upon your participation in 1Card Cash and Meal Plan.
1. Replacement Card - Required:
Immediately contact Public Safety at your respective campus so that a new Fairleigh 1Card can be issued. For College at Florham, call 973 443 8888. For Metropolitan Campus, call 201 692 2222. A replacement fee will be charged when you receive your new ID.
2. 1Card Cash - If you have value on your 1Card Cash account:
Report the loss of your card by deactivating your 1Card Cash account online at the 1Card Cash Cardholder Account Center or by calling the Fairleigh 1Card Service Center at 1 800 343 3320
Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. to prevent unauthorized charges.
3. Meal Plan - If you have an on campus Meal Plan:
Prior to using your new Fairleigh 1Card in any on campus dining facility, take it to the Dining Services office. Dining Services will register your new number so that it can be used at on campus dining locations. You may also call Dining Services have your lost card deactivated to prevent unauthorized charges.

How does 1Card Cash work?
1Card Cash is a cashless, prepaid spending account on your Fairleigh 1Card accepted at the College at Florham, Metropolitan Campus, and at popular businesses around both campuses. 1Card Cash value can only be used at University-approved accepting locations and cannot be converted into cash. Unused balances roll over semester to semester and year to year. You must add value to your account before using 1Card Cash to make purchases. You must have sufficient value available in your 1Card Cash account to pay for each transaction. Each time you use your 1Card Cash account, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account. You may not spend more value than you have.

Your 16-digit 1Card number is located on the front of your Fairleigh 1Card in the lower-left hand corner. Your 1Card number is printed below your 7 digit Student ID number.

What's the difference between 1Card Cash, Meal Plan and Flex Dollars?
All 3 accounts are accessed by your Fairleigh 1Card.
1Card Cash is a prepaid spending account that supplements the Meal Plan and Flex Dollars for residential students and acts as a convenient payment method for non-residential students at on campus eateries. 1Card Cash is also accepted at select on campus vending machines, copy center and machines, the campus bookstore, and at popular businesses around both campuses. It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash or other cards around campus. You or your parents must make a deposit to 1Card Cash prior to using it for purchases. Value in 1Card Cash rolls over from semester to semester and year to year for as long as you are a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University community.
The meal plan is a nutritionally balanced dining program available to those who wish to take advantage of a guaranteed number of meals per week. The meal plan is required for all residential students and is accepted at on campus eateries only. Payment is made at the beginning of each semester along with tuition and other fees. The weekly meal period begins on Saturday and ends on Friday. Meals must be used each week and do not carry over from week to week.
Flex Dollars are similar to cash value available on meal plans. Flex Dollars are accepted for food purchases at on campus eateries only. All of the residential meal plans have some Flex Dollars included. Flex Dollars roll over from Fall to Spring semester but not to the next academic year.

When is value added to 1Card Cash available?
Credit and debit card payments are available immediately and check deposits on the same business day the payment is received. Checks payments resulting in a NSF will be reversed from your 1Card Cash account and a NSF fee will be assessed. If the NSF fee creates a negative balance in your account, you will be contacted to make another payment to the account.

How do I make a purchase with 1Card Cash?
At retail locations, 1Card Cash works much like a debit or credit card. Just present your Fairleigh 1Card for payment to the attendant at the register. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized. You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved transaction. At vending machines and other self service locations simply swipe or insert your card and select the product. If there are enough funds in your 1Card Cash account, the product will dispense and your balance will be updated immediately.

Where can I use 1Card Cash?
1Card Cash can be used at university approved accepting locations on and around both campuses. These can be identified by the “Welcomed” sticker featuring the 1Card Cash logo. A complete list of accepting locations can be seen at www.fairleigh1card.com/acceptinglocations.htm.

Can I use 1Card Cash to make online purchases at the Campus Bookstore?
Yes! Students and parents can place an online order for in store pickup or for shipment. When checking out, you will need to provide a credit card number to complete your order through the online shopping cart. Your credit card will NOT be charged when you note in the customer comment field that you would like to use 1Card Cash as a form of payment instead and include your 16 digit 1Card Cash number. To take advantage of this convenient service, College at Florham students can visit www.fdum.bkstr.com and Metropolitan Campus students can visit www.fdu.bkstr.com.
